The Mayor's Message
By Mayor Joseph C. Parisi
As I have so often said, Spring and Summer are beautiful seasons here in Englewood Cliffs. The budding trees and flowers are particularly welcome sight this year after the punishing winter that we had. Speaking of trees, I hope that all of you take advantage of the tree planting program that is going on at Wittte Filed through our Shade Tree Commission. What a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion or remember a family member! The trees will be there for time everlasting.
At our Reorganization Meeting this year, I recommend to the Council that we undertake the improvement of our Borough facilities. The old Ambulance Corps building has been used for storage for many years and is a terrible state of disrepair. Both our Police Department and other Borough offices are short on the space that is needed to continue to run an efficient operation. We have decided to have plans drawn to improve our Borough Hall and Police Department facilities.
We will review the plans from our architect and then decide how to proceed. I will keep you informed of our progress in the next newsletter.
I hope that with the onset of good weather each of you get out to do things
you enjoy. At least the weather won't be keeping be keeping folks from getting
out. Our playgrounds and the fields are in great shape. Plenty of you use the
tennis courts and the kids are enjoying their summer sports.
